Platinum Series Sectional offers virtually an unlimited number of designs and configuration to fit any kitchen's need. Offering thousands of possible combinations, as well as options and accessories, personalizing your kitchen is up to you. You can choose from open top burners to griddles, charbroilers, planchas, and hot tops, in a variety of sizes and combinations. Building the perfect complement is limitless. With a vast array of models to choose from, Southbend has created a model naming system to simplify the selections in designing your optimal kitchen equipment layout.

Heavy duty charbroilers, hot tops (graduated and uniform), griddle, plancha, open top, and various 32" wide range top combinations and 36" wide range top combinations are available.

All sectional units must have a flue risers at minimum. Some models require a shelf as well. Flue risers and shelves must be ordered with the original equipment order.

Open Top Ranges

Southbend open top ranges are a versatile cooking solution, perfect for skillet and stock pot cooking.  Standard Open Tops have 35,000 BTU* burners and are available in 12", 24", 32", 36" and 48" widths, and are available in rear step-up configurations in the 32" and 36" sizes. (*32" open tops have 32,000 BTUs)

45,000 BTU Pyromax burners are available in 16", 18" 32" and 36" Open Top configurations.

Combinations with open tops, griddles , charbroilers and uniform heat tops are also available.

All Open Top units are available as a modular, or with a standard oven, convection oven, cabinet, or a refrigerated base.

Charbroiler Ranges

Southbend sectional match charbroilers add versatility to any sectional lineup. Cast-iron, two-sided grates allow for 1/4" or 1/8" branding and flat or run-off grid position. A spatula-wide grease trough and tandem grease drawer system allow for easy cleaning. Radiant and briquette models are available.

This top is available in 12", 16", 24" 32", 36" and 48" widths.

Combinations with open tops, griddles , charbroilers and uniform heat tops are also available.

The unit is available with a standard oven, convection oven, cabinet base, or as a table top unit.

Griddle Ranges

Southbend griddles are designed for cooking of food directly on the griddle plate. Sectional griddles feature 1" thick griddle plate and manual or optional thermostatic controls.  This top is available in 12", 16", 24" 32", 36" and 48" widths.

Combinations with open tops, griddles, charbroilers and uniform hot tops are also available on 32" and 36" units.  The unit is available with a standard oven, convection oven, cabinet base, or as a table top unit.

Plancha Range

Plancha Ranges

Southbend plancha units have a high heat zone with max temperatures of 800°F located on front 2/3 of plate for quick sear with decreased temps on the rear 1/3 of plate for product finishing. The newly designed Plancha has a raised 1/2" thick reinforced steel plate powered by cast iron burners which provide a fast preheat and recovery time. On either side of the raised plate there is a 3" wide collection on the sides which allows for separation of waste for preparation of the next fare. This top is available in 16", 18", 24" 32", and 36" widths.

The unit is available with a standard oven, convection oven, cabinet base, or as a table top unit.

Hot Top Range

Hot Top Ranges

Southbend hot tops are typically used for cooking with large stock pots. The top is a highly polished heavy cast iron top plate which heats by direct contact with the stock pot or pan. The heat is extremely consistent over the entire hot top surface, thus pots can be placed anywhere on the top, for maximum efficiency.

Burners heat the top to 700˚F to 800˚F.

  • 12" and 16" have a single plate.
  • 24" and 32" have two plates with independent controls.
  • 36" has three plates with independent controls.

Combinations with open tops, griddles, charbroilers and single and dual hot tops are also available on 32" and 36" units.

The unit is available with a standard oven, convection oven, cabinet base, or as a table top unit.

Graduated Hot Top Range

Graduated Hot Top Ranges

Southbend graduated hot tops have a circular ring heat top. Heat is produced by a center positioned ring burner.This model reaches 1100°F in the center and 550°F on the corners at the high setting.

This range of temperatures offers the flexibility of doing saute work in the center and long term simmer cooking on the perimeter. Because of the heavy ringed casting and high BTU burner, this is the most energy efficient hot top in the industry.

This top is available with a standard oven, convection oven, or cabinet base, refrigerated or freezer base or as a countertop unit.

Induction Ranges

Southbend induction units have (2) 3,500 WATT induction hobs every 12 inches. Induction ranges can be mounted on a standard oven base, convection-oven base, cabinet base, or as a modular unit (for mounting on countertop, refrigerated or freezer base).

Southbend Platinum Series now offers electric top options. Electric hotplates, griddles, and round hotplate tops are available. Platinum electric can be used as a standalone unit, mounted on a cabinet base, or pared with any of our oven base options.
