Who else is looking forward to the fourth of July weekend? I am excited to spend quality time with family and friends. For this month’s Master Series, I wanted to showcase one of my favorite things to make for cookouts as a table snack. I did these from home, long before I introduced them into my bag of tricks back in the country club days. I hope you enjoy this mouth-watering recipe that anyone can master.
Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos
I was and have always been a fan of Jalapeno Poppers, but they always were missing something. Nevertheless, I still would crush a couple of orders of them when going out with friends. This is my take on them which are not fried, they are baked to render the bacon perfectly. I stuff these with cream cheese and pulled pork, then wrap in bacon, drizzled with BBQ sauce, and finish with cilantro.
Since I prepared this recipe for a large gathering, I made them in the TruVection Oven. Did you know that TruVection’s low profile allows you to stack up to 3 units together? These compact convection ovens give you the same performance and consistency as our full-size models. For this recipe, I prefer using a TruVection oven because I found I got a lot more even rendering of the bacon. If you are making these at home in a standard oven, plan to rotate the pan at least 4 times.
I hope you enjoy and until next month keep cooking!
