The Certified Master Chef Exam

The Certified Master Chef (CMC) Exam is something that I was fortunate to be exposed to as a young cook.

My first mentor, James Corwell, CMC was on the path to the exam when I first walked into his kitchen in 1997.  It was there in that club, and the path that would follow, that I realized it was something I wanted to approach someday.  To verify my skills, push myself to the ultimate, and to showcase what I had learned by taking what some have called the most challenging practical test in the world.

The exam consisting of 8 consecutive days and almost 90 total hours of near perfect cooking is what makes this stand out from all other practical tests in any field of study.  In 2012 I successfully passed the exam as the 77th chef to do so since its inception in 1981.
